Blush and Sage Cypress Point Country Club Virginia Beach Wedding Reception | Kim + Stuart Part II

Kim and Stuart's Washington D.C. LDS Temple post was so full of gorgeousness that I knew their reception would need its own space on my blog.    Temple Wedding Fact:  There are 155+ operating temples for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints throughout the world.  Some regions have many within a short distance, while other areas require members to travel long distances to attend.  The state of Virginia does not have a temple, so when members of the church are looking to get married (or sealed as they call it)  they travel to The Washington D.C Temple in Kensington, MD.  It is 3.5-4 hour drive from Virginia Beach depending on traffic.  Once it even took me 8 hours to get home because I-95 was a parking lot--yikes!

Washington DC Temple LDS Spring Wedding | Mormon Wedding Photographer| Kim + Stuart Part I

I was so excited for this wedding!  Not only was it at my favorite place, The Washington D.C. Temple, but I'm so crazy about this fun couple!  I knew when I met Kim and Stuart that they were my kind of people!  They were so fun at their engagement session and I knew their wedding would be just as awesome as they are!  They were sealed as husband and wife on a Wednesday.   We had the entire temple grounds to ourselves.   I was honored to document their love as they celebrated with family and friends on temple grounds.   Kim looked stunning in her Paloma Blanca wedding gown that she purchased from Maya Couture.  Her custom-made lace jacket was the perfect touch!
I photographed their reception as well, but you'll have to wait for part II for that ;)

Kim + Stuart | Virginia Beach Oceanfront Winter Engagement Session

I first met Kim when I took her Nursing School Graduation photos.  I instantly fell in love with her! Not only is she beautiful but she has the sweetest personality.  She's is definitely a brains AND beauty kind of gal!  When I met up with Kim and Stuart at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, their bond was undeniable.

The Words I've Always Wanted to Say | Personal | #gettoknowelovephotos

I squirmed in my seat waiting for my time to speak. We were participating in a mastermind group and I was surrounded by incredible women who spoke so eloquently about their businesses and dreams.  I was nervous and my palms were sweating.  Then it was my turn. I casually spit out a few generic things about feeling like my website and online presence didn’t represent who I was. And then the bomb hit when someone called me out in the very best kind of way.  She said, “Emily, you don’t know who you are because you don’t know what you want.  What do you want!?” I sat there for a moment just trying to process what she had said and I realized that I wasn’t being open. I knew exactly who I was and what I wanted, but I was afraid. So I fumbled on my words for a few more seconds and then burst into tears……
