This week has a special meaning to me.   Why?    It's Teacher Appreciation Week.  But you're a photographer, Emily?????
Well....... I used to be a teacher.  For 5 professional years and countless years beyond that, I served and worked with young children.  It was my PASSION and my love.  Many days, before having children of my own, you could find me in the classroom working until 7 or 8 o'clock at night! (My husband and parents can attest to that--haha!).  Whether it was spending countless hours:  designing unique bulletin boards; coming up with creative ways to teach difficult concepts; or simply just being there DOING WHAT I LOVED, I was in my happy place!

My students were the best.  I actually still keep in touch with a few and they are about to graduate from high school!  Crazy!  The funny thing about my students is that they TAUGHT ME many things on a daily basis.  And little do they know, they also helped me through difficult times on many occasions.  Even when I was struggling personally, every time I stepped into that classroom I knew I had to be their "rock."  When I would be having a bad day, their smiles, hugs and compliments would heal my heart.   Children are just amazing!  I'm short on time today, but I thought I would share two pictures from my teaching days with you.  Enjoy!

This week is TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK.  Make sure you let your child's teacher know how important they are.  It doesn't even have to be big and fancy.  A simple note of appreciation would do the trick!  They work countless hours and love your children more than you will ever know.  Trust me, I've been there...........

I used to dress up while teaching.  I also had "jobs" in my classroom and one of them was for a student to be the PHOTOGRAPHER.  They were able to use my digital camera throughout the day to document all of our learning experiences!

One Halloween I even dressed up as Hannah Montana for my students.   SO MUCH FUN!
